WOZ value

Every year the BSGR determines the value of your house, building, plot or land. This is called the 'waardering onroerende zaken (WOZ), the WOZ-value . The BSGR uses this value to determine how much property tax (OZB) you must pay.

Residents of the municipality of Wassenaar can contact the BSGR (Belastingsamenwerking Gouwe-Rijnland) themselves and object to the WOZ value free of charge. 

Why is this important? 

Commercial "no cure no pay" agencies offer to handle the objection procedure for residents, but in practice they milk the procedure for financial gain. The resident hardly sees any of this while a lot of community money ends up in the coffers of these agencies.
