Volunteer Insurance
If you do volunteer work, you are not always properly insured. That is why the municipality has taken out volunteer insurance. As a volunteer, you are automatically insured with this insurance. This means that you are insured if you have an accident or cause damage.
Volunteer insurance is a second (secondary) coverage. This means that the volunteer's own liability insurance, or that of the institution for which he or she performs the activities, always takes precedence over the municipality's volunteer insurance. It is also known as "safety net" insurance. It is advisable not to cancel one's own insurance.
This does not apply to volunteers who engage through an organization. For example, if a volunteer and an organization find each other on a digital platform and work is done.
The municipality has entered into a basic and plus package.
